As you might have guessed from the rest of this page, my name is nicolas and I enjoy this programming thing. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I decided to make it my job, so that every day could be at least a little fun. You might have heard of my programming language called Bend or the runtime it's made for, HVM.

Yes, programming is very fun, and you can maybe read about some of my work in the projects section, but there is more to life than just computers. I think our world is incredibly beautiful, and observing this beauty, through art, through science, through nature, through community, is the best part of life. Me in particular, I love hiking and travelling to unique places. Watching the birds, smelling strange native plants, that kind of thing. I also really love human places, going to new cities with different people, different culture, different food and language. From the aesthetic choices of my website, you might deduce some other things about who I am and what I'm like. Monospace font, plain colors, dark mode and a link to my GitHub? Yes, I am a fan of computers, the web and technology in general, in the wide sense of the word. Well-thought, well-crafted, efficient and human-centered technology. See the subpar mastery of language, no socia media and only way to contact me is through discord (regretably, as Discord is a horrible platform)? Yes, I am an introvert weirdo that despite all this talk leaves their home way less than they should.
